		<description><![CDATA[Yesterday after I posted this I was reading K.P. Yohannan&#039;s book Revolution in World Missions, which in the early chapters has a couple of accounts of encounters with demons when he was an evangelist in India.  I&#039;m reminded that while demonic activity in our environment (in the West, and in particular in the US) is usually subtle, as I described in this post, it isn&#039;t like that every where or in every period of time.  I think part of the reason is that it is in Satan&#039;s interest for people not to believe in the supernatural at all, and so blatant signs of supernatural activity are uncommon.

		<description><![CDATA[I mentioned in the post above that in the modern Western world we don&#039;t undergo the kinds of things that the first generation of Christians went through.  I can&#039;t really let myself make that comment without mentioning that there are Christians in the world even today who go through incredible persecution.  Open Doors and Voice of the Martyrs are two ministries that work to raise awareness of the persecution, and help where they can.
