The aim of passion

I periodically collect quotes. This morning I was reading some quotes about missions, and noted that some think that all quotes about sacrifice and passion are about missions. There are myriad quotes about the Church’s lack of passion for missions, about complacency in the face of the millions of people bound for hell.

I believe that what is missing from the Church today is not a passion for missions. What we are missing is a passion for God. If we should regain that, He will give us the passion and purpose and ability to fulfil His calling on each of us.

My prayer is that I will have such a passion for following, knowing, and loving God that all else will be put into its proper place, and that thereby my calling will be completed by His hand working in me and through me.
